Event Information
About the event:
For
more than forty years, the Australian University Water Ski & Wakeboard
Championship has been the pinnacle event for tertiary student water sports
enthusiasts. Attended by competitors from all over Australia, it is the
focal event of the year where the best students on the water battle for
national honours in slalom, trick, jump and wakeboarding.
This year’s event will be known as the Australian University Water Ski &
Wakeboard Club Championship (AUWWCC) and promises to bring together some of
the finest talent in Australia. Stretched across 5 days of competition at
the Max Kirwin Ski Park, Mulwala in Victoria, the event includes official
familiarisation plus preliminary and final rounds of all events.
A full social program complements the event, with the festivities forming as
much a part of the culture of these championships as the on water
performances. Current and ex-university students gather from all states to
cheer on their teams and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere on the banks of the
Murray River.
A number of university athletes have gone on to represent their country at
the highest level in water skiing – names like Joel Wing and Chris Cockburn,
past university champions, are ranked among the top water skiers in the
country and have represented Australia at the world championships.
Regardless of whether you’re an accomplished skier/boarder or a competition
novice, the Australian University Club Championships welcomes all skill
levels, with minimum qualifying standards. Plus the on site entertainment
and great people means that whether you’re in first place, last place or
just pissed for six days straight, you'll have the time of your life!!!
